Like three towering peaks of a mythical mountain range, this handmade ceramic windbell stands tall among the others we make. This bell is one of the largest made at Cosanti Originals. Its smooth surface made of natural clay is sometimes punctuated by a cluster of hand-carved circular designs, as seen here. The whimsical round carvings seem to imply clouds that the three summits of the #718 have crested above. Or perhaps a stylized bird, summer sun, or free form pattern mimicking the shadow of clouds overhead will embellish the bell’s smooth surface.
Our artisans work outside year-round, surrounded by the natural world that inspires them and so, like a snowflake, no two windbells are the same. A hint of its clay clapper extends from under the #718 as a colorful diamond-shaped fin dangles below to catch the wind and together, they project a soothing and subtle sound, pleasantly muted and natural, like the sound of tranquility.
