Three hand-carved #708 windbell forms decoratively hang from delicate chains attached to a ceramic pylon shape above. Intentionally lacking the clappers that usually protrude below the lip of each bell, the Retas are reinvented in the #13 Windbell Mobile. Instead of producing sound in the traditional sense from clappers within their bell forms, the #708s are struck on the exterior by the large, cylindrical clay piece they encircle. With a single fin catching the wind, the clay piece is the #13's most dynamic element, swaying and striking the #708 Windbells with ease creating a distinctly different and more resonant sound than that of other ceramic windbells.
