Canal Convergence is back! We're joining other artists and makers to celebrate 10 years of public art along the Arizona Canal, and we're thrilled to be a part of it. We have a booth full of windbells for you to shop at this year's event.
Canal Convergence 2022 will mark 10 years of large-scale public art in and around the Arizona Canal at the Scottsdale Waterfront. To celebrate this momentous occasion, this year’s featured theme is “Celebrating 10 Years of Water + Art + Light.” This year’s event will present light-based public art and programming that embodies the event’s themes from the past and present to provide an authentic and immersive art experience in and around Scottsdale’s canal.
We are also offering bell carving workshops on November 6 and November 13. In this hands-on experience, you will learn the unique silt-cast bell-making process—developed and used every day by the artisans of Cosanti Originals to make their world-famous ceramic windbells. As a participant, you will learn the silt-cast ceramics process, including repairing the silt beds, creating the molds, pouring the clay slip, drying the clay, and processing, carving, and coloring the bells. Complete the experience by assembling your own Cosanti Originals silt-cast bell from components made by Cosanti artisans. Use your imagination to create a one-of-a-kind masterpiece that you can take home.
