The #5 is deconstruction defined. A trio of funnel-shaped #607 Windbells hang side by side from a pitched tripod plate above. The windbells themselves are hollow, an unusual departure from containing clappers that strike the bells’ interior. Instead, the windbells of the #5 mobile encircle a carved cylindrical clay clapper suspending a diamond-shaped brass fin. When the breeze blows, the clapper strikes the outside of the Pirro Windbells, creating a medley of muted, natural sound.
